Taylor Swift became a popular performer and song writer in the early part of 2001 with her tales of love and loss. Swift's passion for music was evident at an early stage. From musicals for kids to performing before thousands, Swift made rapid progress. Swift started writing songs at the age of 11. She sang The Star-Spangled Banner for a Philadelphia 76ers NBA game.
