Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is an American-born British sitarist and musician. She is also the youngest and first woman to be awarded the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Shankar is among India's most promising stars on the sitar. She is the daughter and pupil of Ravi Shankar. Born in London in 1982 and began her life by hopping to London in London and New Delhi. As a teenager the first time she performed at New Delhi took place. At the age of 13, she finished her high school studies at Encinitas CA. Anouskha was only an teen, has enjoyed a successful performing and recording career. She has been performing with her father on stage for many years. The singer made Anourag her debut album on her own in 1998.
